At Mental Connections of Southwest, LLC., we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive emotionally, behaviorally, socially, and mentally. As a multidisciplinary clinic serving Southwest Louisiana, we provide compassionate, evidence-based care designed to help individuals and families overcome life's challenges while building the skills necessary for long-term success and independence.

Our experienced team offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic services, including individual, couple, and family counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), speech therapy, medication management, play therapy, social skills development, parenting support, and self-management training. We proudly serve clients ages 2 and up, providing personalized treatment plans tailored to each person's unique needs and goals.

Mental Connections specializes in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, anger management concerns, socialization difficulties, communication barriers, and other mental and behavioral health needs. Through collaboration with families, schools, medical providers, and community organizations, we take a solution-focused approach that promotes meaningful growth and lasting positive change.

Licensed Professional Counselor serving children 5 years old through geriatric age
adults, couples and families, using patient-centered approach covering various mental
health conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, OCD,
panic disorders, trauma-related issues and bi-polar disorder. I focus on creating a
nonjudgemental, collaborative, supportive environment where the client and I work
together as a team to move through their mental health journey while feeling safe,
respected and heard.

Rita Ceasar-Richard, BGS, MHS

Co-Owner & Practice Manager

 

Rita Ceasar-Richard is the Co-Owner of Mental Connections of SW LA, LLC, where she serves as Practice Manager, and Co-Owner of KidsRKidz Academy, a specialized daycare serving children with special needs. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, she is dedicated to supporting individuals and families through compassionate care and behavioral health services. Rita is a Mental Health Specialist and a graduate of McNeese State University, where she earned a Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences. Outside of her professional work, she is passionate about mentoring and supporting at-risk children and volunteers as a Lunch Buddy with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Madd'yson Ceasar

Administration Assistant 

 

A dedicated administrative assistant since 2019 with experience in behavioral therapy, customer service, and team collaboration.
Earned an associate's degree from Sowela Technical Community College in 2021. 

Currently pursuing a B.S. at Lamar University.
Skilled in working with individuals with exceptionalities and experienced as a line technician. CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified, with a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality care.
